A Water Detected Alert means your Phyn Smart Water Sensor has detected moisture or standing water in the area where it’s placed.
If you have Phyn Smart Water Sensors only
What it means
Your sensor detected water and sent you an alert (for example:
“Phyn Alert for Sensor: Dishwasher — Water detected.”)
What to do
Locate the sensor.
It will be blinking red and beeping intermittently.Check for water or moisture near the sensor.
Stop the source of the water, if present.
For sinks or toilets, you may need to turn off the fixture’s shutoff valve.
Contact a plumber if needed.
Dry the sensor and area.
Wipe the bottom of the sensor and any attached sensor cables or extensions.
Make sure the area is completely dry before replacing the sensor.
Return the sensor to its original location.
The sensor will continue blinking red and beeping until all moisture is removed.
If you have Phyn Plus and Smart Water Sensors with Auto Shutoff enabled
What it means
Your sensor detected water and Phyn Plus automatically shut off your water to help prevent damage.
You may see an alert like:
“Water detected. Your water was turned off.”
What to do
Locate the sensor (blinking red and beeping).
Find and stop the source of the water or leak.
Dry the sensor and surrounding area completely.
Turn your water back on in the Phyn app:
Open the Phyn App
Go to Menu > Home
Scroll to the bottom and tap Water Off to restore water service
Helpful tips
The sensor will not stop alerting until all moisture is removed.
If the alert was triggered by condensation or a spill, drying the area will resolve it.
Repeated alerts in the same location may indicate an ongoing leak that should be inspected by a plumber.
