If you see the message:
“Pairing Error FirmwareError2. Please try pairing again.”
it usually means your home Wi-Fi router settings are blocking the pairing process.
Why This Happens
During pairing, the Phyn device checks whether your Wi-Fi network configuration is compatible.
Pairing may fail if:
A firewall is enabled
Certain network ports are blocked
Router-level security settings are active
Network security software is installed
These settings can prevent the device from communicating properly during setup.
Common Security Software That May Cause This Error
Netgear Armor
Eero Secure
Trend Micro Home Network Security
If you are using any of these, you may need to temporarily disable them while pairing the device.
How to Resolve
Log in to your router’s settings.
Temporarily disable any firewall, advanced security features, or network protection software.
Attempt to pair your Phyn device again.
Once pairing is successful, you can re-enable your security features.
If you are unsure how to adjust your router settings, contact your router manufacturer’s support team for assistance.
