What is “Overlapping”?

In our observation of water use in homes with Phyn, nearly 70% of water use “events” are “single uses”, meaning that water is not being used by more than one fixture at at the same time. When water is used from multiple sources at once, these events currently show up as “Overlapping” in the Phyn app. Phyn identifies the first event from this series. You can see this when you click on “Overlapping” in Water Use Plus and you can provide feedback as to whether this is correct or incorrect to help teach Phyn. As Phyn learns about water use from your home and others, it will begin to understand and identify more of the individual uses within your overlapping events.
