Android Setup and Pairing: Phyn Plus (1st Generation)

Overview

Setting up your Phyn Plus (1st Generation) on Android takes just a few minutes. You’ll install the Phyn app, create an account, pair your device to Wi-Fi, configure your home, and enable notifications.

Before You Start: Check Pairing Mode

Your Phyn Plus must be in Pairing Mode before setup.

• Press the blue button once

• The LED should show a “Searching” pattern (blue lights moving outward from the center)

If you do not see this pattern, perform a hard reset.

Hard Reset the Phyn Plus (if needed)

1. With the device powered on, locate the blue Action button (top or side).

2. Press the button 3 times, then hold for 5 seconds, then release.

   • You’ll see a descending light pattern while holding.

3. The device will restart and display a boot-up animation.

4. When complete, the LED will show the Searching pattern again.

If not, repeat the steps.

Step 1: Install the Phyn App

1. Open the Google Play Store.

2. Search for Phyn.

3. Tap Install, then Open.

Step 2: Create Your Phyn Account

1. Tap Sign Up.

2. Enter:

   • First and last name

   • Email address

   • Mobile number

   • Password

3. Review and accept the Terms of Service and Mobile Terms.

4. Tap Create Account.

Step 3: Set Up Your Phyn Plus

On the Set Up Device screen, tap Phyn Plus.
Setup includes two parts:

• Connect to Network (about 2 minutes)

• Configure Your Home (about 5 minutes)

Connect to Network

1. Press the blue button on the Phyn Plus if needed.
   The LED should show the Searching pattern.

2. On your Android phone, open Wi-Fi settings.

3. Select the network that begins with Phyn.

4. Return to the Phyn app.

5. Select your home Wi-Fi network.

6. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.

7. When prompted, allow View Devices on Network.

If the password is incorrect or signal strength is low, you’ll see an error. Correct the issue and tap Retry.

The app will check for updates and install firmware. This may take a few minutes.
Do not unplug the device during this step.

When complete, tap Continue.

Step 4: Configure Your Home

1. Enter your home address and a home name.

2. Add your fixture inventory using the + and – buttons.

3. (Optional) Select your insurance partner or tap Skip.

4. Rate your plumber and save their details if desired.

Your device is now online.

Optional: Smart Home Integration

You can connect Phyn to:

• Amazon Alexa

• Google Assistant

• IFTTT

Tap a platform to get started, or skip and set this up later under
Settings > Smart Home Integrations.

Enable Notifications

Notifications help you stay informed about unusual water activity.

Push Notifications

• When prompted, tap OK to allow notifications

Email Notifications

1. Verify your email address using the link sent by Phyn.

2. If needed, tap Resend Link.

3. Return to the app once verification is complete.

SMS Notifications

1. Verify your mobile number.

2. Enter the 6-digit code sent to your phone.

Once verified, you’ll receive SMS alerts.
