How do I operate the shutoff valve on the Phyn Plus?
You can turn the Phyn Plus shutoff valve on or off in several ways: through the Phyn App, directly on the device, or manually during a power outage.
Option 1: Using the Phyn App (recommended)
Open the Phyn App on your phone.
Tap the Menu icon in the upper-left corner.
At the bottom of the screen, locate the toggle switch showing Water On or Water Off.
Tap the toggle to change the water state.
What to expect:
When water is off, the app will show Water Off, and the Phyn Plus display will show a blocked flow icon (water on one side with a red line).
When water is on, the app will show Water On, and the display will return to a normal flow pattern.
Option 2: Using the Phyn Plus device (with power)
This works on 1st and 2nd Generation Phyn Plus devices when power is available.
Tap and hold the blue button for 3 seconds.
Release once the valve changes state.
What to expect:
Holding the button turns the water off or back on, depending on its current state.
The LED display will show either a blocked flow (water off) or normal flow (water on).
Option 3: Manual operation (power outage only)
⚠️ Use this method only if the app and blue button are unavailable, such as during a power or internet outage.
Phyn Plus 1st Generation (no power)
Locate the shutoff tool on the device (a flat-head screwdriver can also be used).
Open the gray rubber panel on the bottom of the device.
Find the recessed silver shutoff screw near the gold antenna port.
Insert the tool or screwdriver into the slot.
Turn clockwise to turn off water
Turn counter-clockwise to turn on water
Phyn Plus 2nd Generation (no power)
Use a flat-head screwdriver.
Open the gray rubber panel on the bottom of the device.
Locate the recessed silver shutoff screw next to the USB power port.
Insert the screwdriver into the slot.
Turn clockwise to turn off water
Turn counter-clockwise to turn on water
