If you are unable to create your Phyn account because your phone is not receiving the 6-digit activation code, the issue is most commonly caused by SMS short code messaging being blocked by your wireless carrier.
Some wireless carriers, including T-Mobile in the U.S., may automatically block short code messages when a phone number is ported from another carrier. When this happens, messages from short codes are blocked, even though regular SMS messages still work. This can also affect messages from banks, retailers, airlines, and other services.
Before you continue
Make sure the following are true:
Your wireless plan includes SMS text messaging
You are in an area with active cellular service
Your phone can receive regular SMS messages
How to resolve the issue
Contact your wireless carrier’s customer support.
Ask to be transferred to Technical Support.
Explain that you are unable to receive SMS short code messages.
Tell them that Phyn uses short code 56504.
Ask the carrier to fully remove short code blocking, not just temporarily lift it.
Phyn uses short code messaging to send activation codes and important water-related alerts, so this setting must remain unblocked.
After short code blocking is removed
You may receive multiple 6-digit codes if you previously tapped Resend
Do not use any of the old codes
Restart the account creation process
Use the new 6-digit code you receive via SMS
Once the new code is entered, you should be able to complete account activation successfully.
