iPhone: Phyn account setup and device pairing (Phyn Plus 1st Generation)

Setting up your Phyn Plus (1st Generation) takes just a few minutes. You’ll install the Phyn app on your iPhone, create an account, connect your device to Wi-Fi, configure your home, and enable notifications.

Before you begin: Pairing mode

Your Phyn Plus must be in Pairing Mode.

• Press the blue Action button once

• The LED should show a “Searching” pattern (blue lights moving outward from the center)

If you don’t see this pattern, perform a factory reset.

Factory reset (if needed)

Only reset the device if pairing fails.

1. With the device powered on, locate the blue Action button
   (Top of the unit, or side if installed horizontally)

2. Press the button 3 times, then hold for 5 seconds, and release

3. The LED will animate and reboot

4. When complete, the device returns to Pairing Mode automatically

If pairing mode does not appear, repeat the steps.

Step 1: Install the Phyn app

1. Open the App Store.

2. Search for Phyn.

3. Tap Get, then Open.

4. Tap Allow when prompted to enable Bluetooth.

Step 2: Create your Phyn account

1. Tap Sign Up.

2. Enter:

   • First and last name

   • Email address

   • Mobile number

   • Password

3. Review and accept the Terms of Service.

4. Accept the Mobile Terms.

5. Tap Create Account.

Step 3: Set up your Phyn Plus

On the Set Up Device screen, tap Phyn Plus.

Setup has two parts:

• Connect to Network (~2 minutes)

• Configure Your Home (~5 minutes)

Connect to Wi-Fi

1. Tap the blue button on the Phyn device (lights will flash).

2. On your iPhone, open Settings > Wi-Fi.

3. Select the network that begins with “Phyn.”

4. Return to the Phyn app.

5. Select your home Wi-Fi network.

6. Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Connect.

7. When prompted, tap OK to allow access to devices on your local network.

Note:
If you see a network error, double-check your password and Wi-Fi signal, then tap Retry.

The app will check for updates and install firmware if needed. This may take a few minutes.
You can leave the app open, but do not unplug the device.

When complete, tap Continue.

Step 4: Configure your home

1. Enter your home address and a home name (e.g., “Main Home”).

2. Add your fixture inventory using the + / – controls.

3. (Optional) Select your insurance provider or tap Skip.

4. Rate your plumber and enter their details.
   (You can save them for future use)

Your device is now online.

Optional: Smart home integrations

You can connect Phyn with:

• Amazon Alexa

• Google Assistant

• IFTTT

Tap a service to get started, or Skip and set it up later under
Settings > Smart Home Integration.

Step 5: Enable notifications

Notifications help you stay informed about unusual water activity.

Push notifications

• Tap OK when prompted by iOS

Email notifications

1. Tap Next to verify your email.

2. Open the verification email from Phyn and tap Verify.

3. Return to the app and tap Done.

SMS notifications

1. Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your phone.

2. Wait for confirmation.
