Is there a pressure drop with the Phyn Plus installed?

Last updated on 30 Jan, 2026

The Phyn Plus is designed to work with water lines ranging from 0.75 inches to 1.25 inches and features 1-inch NPSM male threaded connections.

At larger pipe diameters, the impact on water flow and pressure is negligible. Phyn has conducted extensive internal testing, and under normal household water usage, there is no noticeable or meaningful pressure drop.

Even at extreme flow rates, such as 25 gallons per minute, the Phyn Plus would result in a pressure drop of less than 7 PSI, which is not considered impactful for typical residential plumbing systems.

For more detail, refer to the pressure and flow performance chart provided by Phyn Engineering below.
