Pairing Error: Double check you have adequate Wi-Fi signal strength

Last updated on 30 Jan, 2026

This error message may appear during the second step of device pairing, when the Phyn device is connecting to your home Wi-Fi network.

Error message displayed:

“Double check that you have adequate Wi-Fi signal strength and that your Wi-Fi password is correct”

During pairing, after you select your home network on the Connect to Network screen and enter your Wi-Fi password, the app will display Pairing your device. If the connection cannot be completed, this message may appear.

This typically occurs if:

  • The Wi-Fi router, mesh node, access point, or extender is too far from the Phyn device

  • The Wi-Fi password was entered incorrectly

  • MAC address filtering is enabled on the router

What you can do

  1. Retry pairing and carefully re-enter your Wi-Fi password.

  2. If the password is correct and the error persists, move your router, Wi-Fi access point, or extender closer to the Phyn device.

  3. Check your router settings to confirm that MAC filtering is disabled.

Once adequate signal strength is available at the installation location, pairing should complete successfully.
