Phyn users have the ability to compare their water usage to the water usage of other Phyn users of the same size household. The water usage comparison feature has been added to the Water Use Plus Beta section of the Phyn App. There are two water usage comparison views, Monthly and Daily. If the Phyn user’s water usage is less than the average household of that size, that value will appear in green as a % value. If you tap on the % value, a message will be displayed, i.e.:
- “This month you are using 10% less water than the average 2-person home”
If the Phyn user’s water usage is more than the average household of that size, that value will appear in red as a % value. If you tap on the % value, a message will be displayed, i.e.:
- “This month you are using 20% more water than the average 2-person home”
The daily water usage comparison view also has a percentage breakdown of your daily water use by fixture type, i.e.:
- 50% toilet, 20% showers, 10% sink, etc.
Note: Every day at midnight Phyn will take the previous day’s water usage data for all Phyn users and include that water usage data in the global water usage comparison. Monthly View A numeric percentage value will be displayed under “Compared to Avg.” in green or red
- Green = Less water usage when compared to the average
- Red = More water usage when compared to the average
After you tap on the % value, information is displayed to clarify the meaning of the % value, i.e.
- “This month you are using 10% less water than the average 2-person home.”
- -16% compared to average
The daily view has a percentage breakdown of your water use by fixture type.
- 48.4% - Toilet
- 21.40% - Shower
- 16.04% - Sink
- 13.23% - Washing Machine
- 0.92%-Dishwasher
