A broadband internet connection is required for the Phyn Smart Water Assistant. The internet connection should be:
Broadband speed such as high-speed DSL, fiber, cable, or satellite
Always on
Available at the location where the Phyn device is installed
Not on a plan that is restricted by data caps or data throttling
The Phyn Smart Water Assistant uploads approximately 140 MB of data per day, which equals about 4.2 GB per month. Phyn recommends an upload speed of 5 Mbps or higher.
An internet connection using a mobile hotspot is not supported.
Mobile hotspot connections are not always on. After a power outage, these connections typically do not reconnect automatically, which would leave the home unmonitored by Phyn.
