Pairing Mode
KOHLER H2Wise devices automatically enter Pairing Mode the first time they are plugged into power.
If the LED screen shows white bars extending outward from the center, the device is in pairing mode.
If the device is not in pairing mode:
Unplug the device.
Plug it back in.
It should now enter pairing mode.
If it still does not enter pairing mode, perform a Hard Reset to restore factory settings.
KOHLER H2Wise Hard Reset
Follow these steps to reset the device to factory settings:
With the unit powered on, locate the recessed button on the top of the unit.
Insert the tip of a ballpoint pen into the recessed area.
Press and hold for about 8 seconds.
The screen will briefly flash white.
A white pattern will move downward like an elevator.
When the device flashes white again, release the button.
The device will reset.
The LED will fade white to black several times.
A boot-up display will appear (white light growing upward from the bottom until fully illuminated).
After the reset, the device will return to Pairing Mode (white bars extending outward from the center).
Download and Install the KOHLER Konnect App (Android)
Tap Play Store.
Search for Kohler Konnect and tap Search.
Tap Install.
Tap Open.
When prompted to allow location access, tap While Using the App.
Note: Location permission is required to complete pairing and setup.
When the Permission Required screen appears, tap Continue.
Again select While Using This App when prompted for location access.
KOHLER Konnect Account Setup
Tap Sign In or Sign Up.
If you do not have an account, tap Sign Up.
Enter your email address.
Tap Send Verification Code.
Check your email (including spam or other folders).
Enter the 6-digit verification code.
Tap Verify.
When “Email has been verified” appears, continue.
Enter your:
First and Last Name
Password (and confirm)
Mobile Number (optional)
Tap Create Account.
Tap Next at the Privacy screen.
Tap Accept at the Terms of Use screen.
Tap Agree at the Data Collection screen.
Allow Location access when prompted.
Choose whether to share Location Data and Diagnostic Data.
Enter a descriptive Home Name (example: Mi Casa).
Enter your full address.
Tap Add Home.
When Success appears, tap Finish.
Pair the H2Wise Device
Tap the Home tab.
Tap the Devices tab.
Tap the + icon.
Allow camera and photo permissions when prompted.
Select H2Wise.
Tap Continue.
Confirm the device is plugged in and flashing. Tap Next.
Enable notifications when prompted.
Connect to Wi-Fi (Android)
Go to Settings > Connections > Wi-Fi.
Select the SSID labeled Phyn.XXX.
If you see “Internet may not be available,” tap Keep Wi-Fi Connection.
Return to the app.
Select your Home Wi-Fi network.
Enter your Wi-Fi password carefully (use the eye icon to verify).
Tap Connect.
The following will appear:
Pairing your device
Checking for Updates
Firmware Update (approximately 5 minutes)
When complete, Your device is now Online will appear.
Tap Continue.
Installation
1. Prepare for Installation
Install under a sink with hot and cold lines and a non-switched outlet.
Tap Next.
2. Gather Materials
Required tools:
Adjustable wrench
Paper towels
Bucket or cup
Screwdriver
Drill + 11/64" drill bit (optional)
Included:
H2Wise device + sensors
Screws
Clips
3M adhesive strip
Power plug
Tap Next.
3. Turn Off Water
Turn off hot and cold angle stops under the sink.
Tap Next.
4. Drain Water
Turn on faucet until water stops flowing.
Tap Next.
5. Disconnect Hoses
Unthread hose connections.
Catch remaining water.
Remove pipe tape or sealant.
Tap Next.
6. Connect Sensors
Hand tighten sensors onto pipes.
Secure with wrench (do not overtighten).
Tap Next.
7. Turn Water Back On
Turn angle stops back on.
Run faucet until air is cleared.
Check for leaks with a paper towel.
Tap Next.
8. Final Leak Check
With faucet off and valves open, inspect again.
Tap Next.
9. Mount Device
Choose mounting location.
Mark mounting holes.
Drill pilot holes (if applicable).
Secure device.
Snap cover back on.
Tap Next.
10. Plug In Device
Connect sensors to device.
Plug into outlet.
Secure cables.
Tap Next.
11. Hot Water Calibration
Ensure no water is running in the house.
Turn on hot water at the sink.
Confirm water is hot.
Tap My Hot Water is On.
Installation verification will run.
When complete, Installation Successful! appears.
Tap Done.
Final Setup
Tap Continue.
Confirm address.
Select water source:
I use public water
I have a well
I’m not sure
Indicate whether you have a PRV (if applicable).
Complete fixture inventory using the + icon.
Choose Smart Home integrations (optional).
Tap Explore the App.
Your KOHLER H2Wise device is now activated and protecting your home.
