Android – Phyn account setup and pairing instructions – Phyn Smart Water Sensor

Setting up your Phyn Plus Smart Water Sensor is a quick and user-friendly process. You will install the Phyn app on your Android device, create or log in to your account, set up your Smart Water Sensor, and enable SMS, email, and push notifications.

Adding a Smart Water Sensor to an existing account

  • If you already have a Phyn account with a Phyn Plus or Phyn Smart Water Assistant, launch the Phyn app

  • Tap Menu

  • Select the Home where you want to add the Smart Water Sensor

  • Tap the Home name again

  • Tap Set Up Device

  • Select Phyn Smart Water Sensor

  • If you already have a Phyn account with a Smart Water Sensor and want to add another sensor

  • Launch the Phyn app

  • Select the Home where you want to add the additional sensor

  • Tap Phyn Smart Water Sensors

  • Scroll down and tap Add New Sensor


Download and install the Phyn app on Android

  1. Open the Play Store on your Android device.

  2. Search for Phyn.

  3. Select Phyn and tap Install.

  4. Tap Open to launch the app.


Phyn account sign up

  1. Tap Sign Up.

  2. On the Create Account screen, enter the required information:

    • First Name

    • Last Name

    • Email

    • Mobile Number

    • Password

  3. Tap Terms of Service to read and accept the Terms of Service.

  4. Tap the checkbox to accept the Mobile Terms of Service.

  5. Tap Create Account.


Set up Phyn Plus Smart Water Sensor

After creating your account, you will be prompted to set up your device.

  1. Tap Phyn Plus Smart Water Sensor.

  2. Tap Continue to begin setup.

The setup process includes three steps:

  • Configure Your Device (1 minute)

  • Connect to Network (2 minutes)

  • Configure Your Home (1 minute)


Configure device

  1. Name your sensor using a descriptive location such as Water Heater, Dishwasher, or Washing Machine, then tap Next.

  2. Configure alerts for temperature and humidity.

  3. Set the Low Temperature threshold. The default is 42°F. Select a temperature above freezing to allow time to protect pipes, then tap Next.

  4. Set the Humidity Range. The default range is below 30% and above 50%. Adjust as needed and tap Next.

Your Smart Water Sensor is now configured.

  1. Tap Continue to proceed to network setup.


Connect to network

  1. Bring the Smart Water Sensor close to your Wi-Fi router before placing it in its permanent location.

  2. Press and release the button on the side of the sensor to enter pairing mode.

  3. Confirm the center light is blinking, then tap Next.

Follow the on-screen steps to pair the sensor:

  • Confirm the sensor is in pairing mode and the center light is blinking

  • Open your phone settings and select Wi-Fi

  • Choose the network that begins with Phyn.Water

  • Return to the Phyn app

  • Select your home Wi-Fi network

  • Enter your Wi-Fi password and tap Connect

Note: If the Wi-Fi password is incorrect or signal strength is low, a pairing error will appear. Verify your information and tap Try Again.

Once connected, the app will check for updates.


Test your sensor

  1. Press and release the button on the side of the sensor.

  2. Confirm you hear a brief buzzer and see a green light.

If an error occurs, follow the on-screen instructions. Additional troubleshooting steps will be provided if needed.

  1. Tap Continue to proceed.


Configure your home

  1. Enter your home address.

  2. Enter a descriptive home name such as Vacation Home or Our House.

  3. Tap Next.


Explore the app

Your Smart Water Sensor is now online and ready to use.

  • Tap Add Another Device if you would like to set up an additional Smart Water Sensor

  • Begin monitoring temperature, humidity, and water activity with the Phyn app
