Setting up your Phyn Smart Water Assistant on Android is quick and guided step-by-step in the Phyn App. You’ll create your account, pair your device, install the sensors, configure your home, and enable notifications.
Before You Begin
Download the Phyn App from the Google Play Store
Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data
Plug in the Phyn Smart Water Assistant
Ensure the Device Is in Pairing Mode
When first powered on, the device automatically enters Pairing Mode.
You’ll see blue bars extending outward from the center on the LED screen.
If the device is not in pairing mode, reset it to factory settings to restore pairing mode.
Step 1: Download the Phyn App
Open the Google Play Store.
Search for Phyn.
Tap Install.
Tap Open.
Step 2: Create Your Phyn Account
Tap Sign Up.
Enter:
First Name
Last Name
Email
Mobile Number
Password
Review and accept the Terms of Service.
Accept the Mobile Terms of Service.
Tap Create Account.
Step 3: Pair Your Phyn Device
After account creation, tap Phyn Smart Water Assistant to begin setup.
This process includes:
Connect to Network (≈2 minutes)
Installation (≈20 minutes)
Configure Home (≈15 minutes)
Tap Continue to start.
Connect to Wi-Fi
Plug in your device and tap Next when the light flashes.
Scan the QR code on the bottom of the device.
Allow camera access if prompted
Or tap Continue without scanning and enter the 6-digit code manually
If manual entry fails, follow the on-screen steps to connect to Wi-Fi.
Select your home Wi-Fi network and enter the password.
Allow permission to View Devices on the Network.
Wait while the device checks for updates and completes firmware installation.
Do not unplug the device during this process+
Step 4: Install the Sensors
Follow the guided visuals in the app.
Key steps include:
Turn off hot and cold water under the sink
Drain remaining water
Disconnect hoses and clean threads
Attach sensors (hand-tighten, then lightly tighten with a wrench)
Turn water back on and check for leaks
Mount the device (screws or 3M adhesive)
Plug in the device and reconnect sensors
Run hot water until prompted that installation is complete
Tap Done when installation is successful.
Step 5: Configure Your Home
Enter your home address and name.
Select your water source (public water or well).
Complete the pressure or PRV check by flushing a toilet.
Add your fixture inventory.
Your device is now fully online.

Step 6: Enable Notifications
Notifications help alert you to unusual water activity.
Push Notifications
Tap OK when prompted by Android
Email Notifications
Verify your email via the link sent by Phyn
You can update your email later in Settings > Account
SMS Notifications
Enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your phone
