Enhanced Plumbing Checks

Phyn’s AI has been trained on nearly two billion water events. Using this data, Enhanced Plumbing Checks improve leak detection accuracy while reducing misidentified alerts and delivering clearer, more helpful messaging about your plumbing system.

When Scheduled Plumbing Checks are enabled, Phyn will make up to three attempts to complete a check:

  • The first attempt runs at the scheduled time

  • If blocked or interrupted, a second attempt runs 30 minutes later

  • If that attempt is also blocked or interrupted, a third and final attempt runs 30 minutes after the second

Only after all three attempts are blocked or interrupted will a push notification be sent to notify you of the issue.


Plumbing Check Statuses

A Plumbing Check may be marked as Blocked or Interrupted depending on what prevented it from completing.


Plumbing Check Blocked

Reason: Existing Water Usage Detected

What does this mean?

Phyn’s Smart Plumbing Check (SPC) detected water flowing before the test began, most likely due to intentional usage, and skipped the check to avoid interruption.

What can I do?

  1. Set the plumbing check schedule during a time when no water is being used in the home.

  2. Consider running a manual plumbing check at your earliest convenience.


Plumbing Check Interrupted

Reason: Water Usage Detected During the Plumbing Check

What does this mean?

Phyn detected intentional water usage that started during the plumbing check and stopped the test so your water could continue flowing.

What can I do?

  1. Set the plumbing check schedule during a time when no water is being used in the home.

  2. Consider running a manual plumbing check at your earliest convenience.


Plumbing Check Blocked

Reason: Low Pressure

What does this mean?

Phyn determined there was not enough water pressure to start the Smart Plumbing Check.

What does this mean?
