You may see the warning message:
“Phyn Alert for your Home: An Extended Plumbing Check is recommended.”
This message means Phyn detected something during a manual Normal Plumbing Check that needs a closer look, but it could not confidently confirm a leak.
Why this message appears
The warning is sent when all of the following are true:
A Normal Plumbing Check is run manually from the Phyn app
The Normal Plumbing Check detects some pressure loss
The system cannot determine whether the pressure change is caused by a very small (pinhole) leak
Because of this uncertainty, Phyn recommends running an Extended Plumbing Check.
What to do next
An Extended Plumbing Check:
Runs longer, typically 10–13 minutes
Is more sensitive than a Normal Plumbing Check
Can detect smaller or more subtle leaks
Running the Extended Plumbing Check helps Phyn gather enough data to determine whether a leak is present.
Important notes
This warning only appears for manual Plumbing Checks
It is not sent for scheduled or automatic Plumbing Checks
The warning is triggered when a pressure drop of at least 1.5 psi is detected during a Normal Plumbing Check (about 3 minutes)
