The Phyn Plus can work with mesh Wi-Fi routers, but some setup changes may be needed.
Phyn Plus connects only to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi. Many mesh systems use a single network name (SSID) for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz and automatically move devices between bands. This can prevent Phyn Plus from pairing or staying connected.
Common mesh Wi-Fi systems
Phyn Plus may require additional setup on these networks:
Google Wi-Fi / Google Nest Wi-Fi / Google Fiber
Eero
Linksys Velop
Netgear Orbi
TP-Link Deco
AmpliFi
Plume
Ubiquiti Mesh
Ways to connect Phyn Plus to a mesh network
Try the option that best matches what your router supports.
Option 1: Create a separate 2.4 GHz network
If your router allows it, set up separate network names:
Example: MyNetwork-2.4 and MyNetwork-5
During setup, connect Phyn Plus to the 2.4 GHz network only
Option 2: Use a 2.4 GHz guest network
Some mesh systems let you create a guest network that runs on 2.4 GHz.
Create a guest network with a unique name (for example, Guest-2.4)
Connect Phyn Plus to that network
Option 3: Temporarily disable 5 GHz during setup
Some routers, such as Eero, allow you to temporarily turn off 5 GHz.
Disable 5 GHz during pairing
Re-enable it after setup is complete
Option 4: Create an additional 2.4 GHz SSID
If you cannot split your main network:
Create a new SSID that broadcasts on 2.4 GHz only
On AmpliFi systems, be sure to add this SSID to all mesh points
Connect Phyn Plus to the new 2.4 GHz network
Option 5: Use a separate access point
If none of the options above are available:
Connect an additional router or access point to your mesh system
Set it to broadcast 2.4 GHz only with a new network name
Connect Phyn Plus to that network
