If your Phyn Smart Water Assistant previously showed Online but now displays Device Offline in the Phyn app, follow the steps below to bring it back online.
Step 1: Restart (Power Cycle) Your Device
Unplug the Phyn device from the electrical outlet.
Wait a few seconds.
Plug the Phyn device back in.
Allow approximately 2–3 minutes for the device to reconnect. It should then show Online in the Phyn app.
Step 2: Check Your Internet Connection
If the device still shows Offline, verify your home internet is working properly.
Confirm other devices connected to your Wi-Fi can browse the internet.
If you use a separate modem and Wi-Fi router:
Unplug the modem.
Plug the modem back in and allow it to fully restart.
Then unplug and re-plug the Wi-Fi router.
If you use a modem/router combo device:
Unplug the device.
Plug it back in and allow it to fully restart.
After your internet equipment has restarted, check the Phyn app again.
Step 3: Factory Reset (If Needed)
If you have not changed your Wi-Fi settings and the device still shows Offline, you may need to factory reset and re-pair it.
Ensure the unit is powered on.
Locate the recessed button on the top of the unit.
Insert the tip of a pen into the recessed button.
Press and hold for 10 seconds, then release.
The device will reset. The LED display will show a boot-up animation.
After resetting, the device will enter pairing mode. You will see blue bars extending outward from the center.
Step 4: Re-Pair the Device
Open the Phyn app.
Tap Menu.
At the top of the screen, tap Add Home.
Tap Set Up a New Home.
Select Phyn Smart Water Assistant.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
During setup:
Scan the QR code located underneath the device.
Connect to your home Wi-Fi network.
Tap Next or Continue through the prompts.
Run the Hot Water Calibration when prompted.
Once calibration is complete, pairing is finished and the app will return to the Water Activity screen.
Important
If you changed your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) or password, the device will show Offline until it is re-paired.
If you purchased a new Wi-Fi router, you must re-pair the device to the new network.
If you recently updated your Wi-Fi settings, follow the instructions in the related Wi-Fi update article to reconnect your device.
